What do you do at Alpha Trains Group and how long have you been working there?
I am the Commercial Director of Alpha Trains locomotives division, and I have been working for Alpha Trains for 10 years. My role involves overseeing lease placements and new-build investments across European markets, managing customer relationships, and ensuring our services meet the demands of a constantly evolving market.
Why did you choose to join this company?
I was initially drawn to the rail sector due to the industry’s capital-intensive nature, the technical complexities and because it is full of unique challenges. When I learned about Alpha Trains, I was captivated by its international character and the culture of the company, built on passion, trust and loyalty. It seemed like a perfect fit for my own personal values and ambitions.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
What I love most is the variety and complexity of my work. No two days are the same, just like no two European markets! For example, France and Germany differ significantly in railway electrification, regulatory frameworks, and cultural approaches to negotiation. Finding creative solutions to unique challenges keeps me motivated. On top of that, leading a talented and driven team is incredibly fulfilling. Today, what truly sets Alpha Trains apart is that it feels like family to me!
What is your favorite locomotive and why?
Without a doubt, the Euro9000 by Stadler. With its six axles, dual engines and a power output of up to 9 MW, it is the most powerful locomotive in Europe! What really sets it apart is its versatility: it can operate on both electrified and non-electrified lines, and it is designed for seamless cross-border operations, like carrying heavy loads between Rotterdam and Milan. It is the perfect example of how innovation can transform the rail sector.
How do you define customer satisfaction?
Customer Satisfaction is at the heart of everything we do, it is the condition for a company’s long-term success. For me, it is about building strong, long-term relationships based on trust, loyalty, and mutual respect. We at Alpha Trains invest in these relationships through regular communication, but also personalized, high quality moments with each of our customers… and larger events like our big party at InnoTrans!
