On every track our local people make the difference!

What do you do at Alpha Trains Group and how long have you been working there?

I have been a Commercial Manager for Alpha Trains since 2021. I joined the company right in the midst of the Covid era, it was a truly unique time to be hired!

I am focusing on Central and Eastern Europe, primarily Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. My role combines business development with maintaining strong, ongoing relationships with existing customers, which often involves being out in the field to meet clients directly.

Why did you choose to join this company?

I really enjoy the international culture at Alpha Trains, with colleagues from Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Germany. It is incredibly stimulating! I also value the company’s flat hierarchy: it is much easier to make decisions and have open conversations, even with senior management. Coming from a larger organization, I find the agility here both refreshing and empowering.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I like to be in direct contact with our customers! Really understanding their needs and finding solutions to issues that may arise can be challenging, but this is how you build trust… and it is extremely important for me. Another thing that I like in my job is that it is really dynamic: there are always a lot of things ongoing in the same time. Projects have a long lead time, you sometimes work on a transaction for a year or two before reaching a deal, but when you manage to close it successfully, it is really rewarding!

What are the specific characteristics of the Polish rail market? Are there specific needs?

Poland is one of the largest railway markets in Europe, with around 3,000 locomotives. However, much of the fleet is aging and needs replacing, as investments in modernization have been slower compared to other countries. Freight trains often run below 30 km/h, compared to 60 km/h in Germany, so improving efficiency and increasing rail capacity are major priorities. Poland is also a key transit hub between Asia and Europe, with several important rail freight corridors passing through.

What is your favorite locomotive and why?

I would say the VectronMS by Siemens. This locomotive is incredibly versatile, operating seamlessly across multiple markets and countries without needing to switch at borders. It has become the most common locomotive in Central Europe, and it’s widely recognized for its reliability and efficiency.

How do you define customer satisfaction?

For me customer satisfaction is about building long-term partnerships. It is not just about closing a deal, it is about continuous support. The true test comes when something goes wrong. We at Alpha Trains Group pride ourselves on being reliable and responsive in those moments. The core instinct of a salesperson is to always be attentive to their customers′ needs! And to choose the right partners to deliver the right solutions.
